Artist: Ron Bausch
Title: Behind Mt. Sneffles
About the Artist: A native of Kansas, Ron Bausch began drawing horses at age six, a subject he still loves and paints occasionally. At eleven years of age, he won third place in a statewide art contest, and has been involved with art ever since. Bausch is a graduate of Washburn University and Kansas State Teacher's College and eventually found himself part owner of an art gallery where the business of art took center stage in his life. Since then he has painted full time. Over the years, Bausch has become an avid plein air painter, spending much of his time painting outside on location in order to capture the values, mood and color of the real landscape. He then works from small field studies in order to paint larger studio paintings. Bausch has studied with Ben Konis, Stephen Quiller, Dick Turner, John Encinias, and Matt Smith.
Ron and his wife, Claire, live in Garland, Texas.
