About the Art: Both the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote were created by Chuck Jones. They first appeared in the 1949, cartoon Fast and Furry-ous.
A model sheet insures that the personality and look of a character is executed with the accuracy.
“Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner Model Sheet” is a continuation of a series of model sheet-style hand painted limited edition cels.
Because a number of animators work on a single cartoon, model sheets were created to promote consistency between the artists’ work.
When Jones states, “The Road Runner cannot harm the coyote except by going ‘Beep-Beep!” or “No outside force can harm the coyote – only his own ineptitude…” we are, in a sense given attributes of a character.
Juan Ortiz rendered the original drawing for this edition.
The background was adapted from original model sheets and reproduced utilizing the fine art Giclee process.
