However, as a youngster Wendy Corbett was discouraged by teachers from doing this, who suggested she think of a 'real' job instead. This was the reason that she actually ended up becoming a teacher. On doing this job Corbett found that she was not suited to it at all and subsequently left with absolutely no idea what she was going to do. It has been a long dream of Wendy Corbett's to live by the coast and one day she made the spur of the moment decision to move to Devon, with the intention of one day becoming a full-time artist. The two subjects Corbett paints are her two great passions- wildlife and the sea. She hopes that, because they stir something deep within her, that she transfers that to her work.
