Dronma works in a number of different media but prefers above all to paint in oil on canvas, although her degree was actually taken in sculpture. Her vivid landscapes have gained her a fine reputation amongst contemporary Scottish painters as a modern colourist. In particular, she loves to paint colourful beach scenes. Dronma has two daughters living on the north west and east coasts of Scotland and visits to her family and to the stunning coastal environment in which they live have inspired much of her art. She declares I love the fact that, especially with colourful beach scenes, you have summertime hanging on your wall. Recently, on a cold and snowy afternoon, I was painting away at a beach scene and immersing myself in the atmosphere, the wind and the smell of the sea. I came out thinking ‘What a glorious day!"."
