This 2006 series of multi-media paintings embodies these elements of tidal landscapes and introduces another dimension: What the eye sees is only the top layer of reality. There are countless other textures, designs, layers, and proportions that underlie or reflect that given environment. These new paintings introduce a multi-faceted perspective that incorporates realism with the imagination. "Beneath the Surface" integrates the use of collage of acrylic ink on rice and tissue paper with the mixed media of pastel, coloured pencils, watercolour and acrylic on watercolor paper. |
