About the Art: By the 18th century, tapestry workshops could weave hangings with increasingly intricate details. This attracted many well known Rococo painters to apply their talents to the art of tapestry. The original of this tapestry by Jean-Baptiste Huet, ca. 1780, hangs today in the Louvre. The use of pinks and beige with blue highlights is unique, and a very Rococo touch.
