About the Art: Thom has created Yankee Stadium to honor the greatest cathedral of the game in the Major Leagues™. This painting commemorates the ballpark’s upcoming Farewell 85th Season which will take place in 2008. Yankee Stadium honors the stadium that has hosted Major League Baseball™greats such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig
and Joe DiMaggio, immortalized on canvas. Yankee Stadium features a total of sixteen N's as a tribute to the love he shares with his wife Nanette. The Highlanders were officially renamed the "Yankees", in April of 1913, after moving to the Polo Grounds, home of the National League's New York Giants.

And now, in 2008, the greatest cathedral to the game of baseball, is about to close its doors forever. I could not let such a historic moment pass without honoring it in my way. on first base? Babe Ruth in right field? Joe DiMaggio patrolling center? Or maybe it’s Mickey Mantle in center and Roger Maris in right.
