Snow had started falling the afternoon before and continued all night and throughout the day. Dad left work early and picked up a tree at the Boy Scout lot. We all agreed that it was the prettiest tree we ever had! The excitement was building as he and Mom lit a fire in the fireplace and stood the tree up for decoration. We kept our decorations in the hall closet. “Kids” Dad said, “go to the closet and bring out our ornaments”. My cousin, my little brother and I needed no further prodding. We dashed to the closet and entered our wonderland of Christmas memories. Cascading down and around us were the most beautiful symbols of the season, carrying the magic from year to year!"
