Title: "Racehorse and Jockey" A Very Impressive Horse Bronze
Medium: Genuine Pure Bronze - Lost Wax Process (Cire Perdue)
Height: 28½" tall by 30" wide
Detailed Description : This impressive sculpture by master equestrian sculptor Isidore-Jules Bonheur (French, 1827-1901) was first cast circa 1860. The model was the horse "Kingsem", the unbeaten winner of 54 races including the Oaks, St. Leger, Derby and the Goodwood Cup. Her daughters and the progeny of her daughters went on to win a further 41 classic races. Certainly this was a horse well worthy of immortalizing in bronze, and it was ably achieved by this fine sculptor.

We have cast Racehorse and Jockey in our own California art foundry using 80 lbs. (36 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a classic patina in rich tones of browns. Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see all of the wonderful details.

The sculpture is mounted onto a green marble base, stands a majestic 28½" tall by 30" wide (72 cm high x 76 cm wide). It is signed "I BONHEUR" in its realistic earthen-looking base and carries our Art Bronze foundry seal.

This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to the highest standards.
