About the Art: In Glen Orbik's "Money Shot" once a person knows the graphic novel's plot that inspired this painting, as is the case with most hardboiled crime fiction, everything falls into place. In short, a girl with an alias is victimized by the industry in which she sells herself. With vengeance now embedded in her heart and mind, this same girl enlists the help of an ex-cop to right wrongs done not just to herself, but to others similar to herself. What isn't said about "Money Shot" is just how influential Orbik's art can be. That even after the book "Money Shot" was published, when author Christa Faust and publisher HCC saw Glen's rendition of main character, Angel Dare and her vengeful attempts against the money and men who objectify her, a scene mirroring this image was written into the novel's text. Consequently, it was the "Money Shot" of the novel.
Using models, vintage costumes and props, Orbik sets the scene and then photographs it. Then with these photographs and carefully crafted studies, Orbik meticulously renders the image in oil paints on illustration board. Reproduced as a fine art giclee on paper, each print is numbered and hand-signed by the artist.
