Medium: Hand-Painted Limited Edition Deluxe Cel
About the Art: 100 nuts and a squirrel mean something here, simply because “nuts” are what nearly drives Porky nuts in the classic 1939 Looney Tunes short “Porky in Wackyland,” directed by Robert Clampett. In this image, Porky has reached the darkest Africa, where with an agility by both himself and his plane, he tiptoes himself over to a world of alternate dimension, in his quest to capture the ever elusive last of the Do-Do birds.
Each cel is hand-numbered and signed Ruth Clampett, Creative Director for Warner Bros. Fine Art Program for over 20 years and the daughter of the legendary animation director, Bob Clampett.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bob Clampett was an American animator, director, producer and puppeteer known for his work on the Looney Tunes animated series from Warner Brothers. Clampett was promoted to a directorial position in 1937 and during his fifteen years at the studio, directed 84 cartoons later deemed classic and designed some of the studio's most famous characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and Tweety.
