Conceptualized in 1948, Marvin the Martian exists as one of the most popular Looney Tunes characters. The impetus behind Life of Marvin is the Martian's anger toward other alien notoriety, while he goes unnoticed for his off-Earth antics. Renowned "VeggieTales" animator Michael Cole interprets Marvin as oversized to show both his nature and enormous ego. Cole's credits include theme park designs for Disneyland and Disney Hong Kong's attractions, "A Bug's Life," "Toy Story," and "Hello Mickey."
About the Artist
Michael Cole, originally from South Bend, Indiana, became a Disney artist after attending Auburn University. He worked on projects for Disneyland and Disney Hong Kong theme parks, including "A Bug's Life" and "Toy Story." Cole developed expressive fine art featuring Looney Tunes characters, drawing inspiration from his childhood love for these cartoons. He also contributed to the hit animated series "VeggieTales" and opened NolenCole, a gallery/eatery in Florence, Alabama. Currently residing in Franklin, Tennessee, Cole continues to innovate in the art world, blending his experience in animation with fine art.
