Description
Limited Edition canvas artwork by Heather Edwards, from our collection of Signed & Numbered Limited Editions.
Imagine having the opportunity to step into one of the pivotal moments in Belle and Beast’s remarkable love story. That’s exactly what you get to do as you peer into the ballroom presented in the diptych paintings Just a Little Change: Gratitude and Just a Little Change: Humility. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the view of each painting is opposite the other–the position of Belle and Beast at one side of the ballroom, with the other characters witnessing with wonder in the far background of the doorway, and the position of the supporting cast waiting in the doorway watching Belle and Beast dancing across the floor.
In Gratitude, Belle and Beast are united in the joy of the moment, aware of all the support, hope, and transformation that brought them here. Their dance becomes a celebration of gratitude for the journey they have shared, and for the people who have helped them along the way.
About the Artwork
It is this gratitude that reflects the wonder of what has been gained through patience, trust, and love. Included in this side of the diptych are a small handful of Easter Eggs: in the alcoves to each side of the door are sculptural monuments to Raya and the Last Dragon, Sisu. Above them, amongst the cherubs painting on the curved walls, is Shorty, from Tangled, playing out his dream as Cupid.
The two paintings above the alcoves are a tribute to the art of the famous 18th century painter Hubert Roberts. In the window just above Belle twinkles a trio of stars, as though Mickey winks at them from another time and place. And lastly, tucked in the ruched satin of Belle’s golden gown is one of the cursed Aztec coins from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl set in a medallion pin encircled with pearls.
