Sledding is the kind of play that makes everyone a kid. Doing almost anything with my kids gets me feeling nostalgic - not for the nineteenth century or anything like that, but for my own childhood.

I heightened the effect of the lighting in the image by adding alpenglow. That's the name for the light during what is called the "magic hour," which is usually the last sunlight of the day. It makes a photographer scurry around for great shots or leaves an artist staring into space, mesmerized by the visual crescendo.
