About the Artist: Richard Mravik was born in Nove Zanky, Slovakia and was noted from a very early age as a gifted artist. He gained local notice painting commissioned portraits including pets and family portraits. His love for nature and the fine details of light, form and textures found in the natural world sparked a lifelong interest in capturing the true vibrancy of nature using oils on canvas. Richard came to Canada in 1999 on a commission to paint wildlife. Traveling and camping from province to province he quickly realized that the natural beauty of Canada's landscapes and wildlife were a perfect fit, and the textures and detail afforded in the medium of oils have led to his unique qualities of depth, shadows, and sparkling light. Richard typically spends at least one month per painting to achieve the incredible and always one of a kind quality seen in his world renowned oil paintings. Richard's unique style in fine art oil painting have led to internationally recognized success as a leading fine artist.
