About the Art The Cheyenne called them "Cloud Men." They called themselves "People of Our Own Kind." They were the Arapaho and they stayed more on the eastern slope of the Rockies. The tribe broke up sometime around the late 1830s. One group went south with the Southern Cheyenne and another went north with the Northern Cheyenne. But these particular warriors stayed up in the mountains just east of the Wind River.
