About the Artwork
"Tigers at Rest" portrays a quiet, intimate moment among wild tigers, capturing stillness and connection rather than action. Against a softly rendered winter‑like landscape, Abraham Hunter emphasizes mood, texture, and subtle light, inviting viewers into a moment of calm amid the power of the animals.

“This painting seems a perfect fit for this snowy weekend. I've been wishing for decent snow this winter so I'm grateful. This also seems like the best time to announce that I have some letters after my name now when I sign paintings! I got the news last week that I am now a Signature Member of the Society Of Animal Artists! I can sign 'S.A.A.' after my name now 🙂 A few artists in this prestigious international society were a light of inspiration to me in my teens and it's a joy to be included. Extra special also is the timing. This year marks my twentieth anniversary of painting! It's been years of wholehearted dedication. I've been trying especially hard to grow in my work and also put myself out there more, so this is a much needed sign that I'm on a good track.”
“I was going to share it last week but decided to skip my usual post last weekend altogether out of reverence/respect for the turmoil and suffering going on that is most likely filling up your social media. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, so here's a painting to lighten up your newsfeed. Living in these times for me kind of reminds me of when my parents were divorcing. It's interesting how many parallels there are but I won't go into that unless asked. Art helped me get through that tumultuous time and it is doing the same again.”
“I'd like to give a friendly recommendation if I may. Pick up an artistic/creative pursuit and devote time to it each day. Maybe make some friends in whatever artistic world you pick. Whether you're good or bad at it don't worry. You'll grow and your soul will with it. If you invest the time, deal with the frustration of your limits, come face to face with what doesn't feel good and pure inside, and don't walk away, I think you'll be better off and I think it will help you down the road.”
