In LEAVING THE PADDOCK LeRoy Neiman captures the glamour and excitement of the sport of kings. Palm trees and the luxurious Mediterranean architecture provide a perfect backdrop for sunning, people watching and betting. The clubhouse set are doing their usual networking.
LEAVING THE PADDOCK showcases the palatial setting in a palette of lush sun drenched colors. LeRoy invites the viewer to participate in the rites and rituals of a stake race. Celebrities and officials, spectators and bettors, intermingle and sip cool drinks under the umbrellas. The call summons horse and jockey to the track. All eyes are focused on the field of thoroughbreds in all of their nobility, as they head for the post parade, the starting gate and the race.
