From the Artist : This is one of the happiest painting I think I’ve done. Everything about this just makes me smile, from the colors to the composition to the memories the subjects bring. I grew up in the Midwest where farms, old farm equipment, and deer were everywhere! This very large deer family has come to the farmers overgrown pumpkin patch to find something to eat. The farmer has been busy all day stacking his fall harvest into corn shocks and has retreated to his workshop in the barn to finish up his last chores before dinner at his wife’s beautifully lit home. The deer however have spotted you, the viewer, and almost seem to be asking you for a treat! With today being Halloween, the perfectly fitting title me and my wife decided on could be no other than “Trick or Treat”.
