About the Artist:
Born in 1908, in Russia, Alexander Bogdanov was a member of a leading group of Russian artists specialising in landscapes and still-life studies.
A true professional of outstanding ability, his paintings radiate freshness as a result of the diversity of his colours and his use of brush strokes to create depth and movement on the surface of the canvas. In addition, his eye for detail and his technical accuracy provide a sound basis for his atmospheric images. All these strengths combine to bring to his works an instant vitality.
Bogdanov died in 1989.
