About the Artist:
Gabriel Deschamps was born in 1919 and studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.
He became a member of the Paris Autumn Salon from 1939 and acquired a notable reputation for his beautiful paintings of the coastline of the south of France and the landscape of Provence, where he had a house. His paintings perfectly capture the fresh, vibrant colours and the intense quality of light in that region.
Deschamps exhibited his work around the world and his original paintings were sold to collectors in many countries including particularly in the United Kingdom, America and Western Europe. His artworks are represented in many important private and public collections in Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, USA and Argentina.
