About the Art: My job was to portray these horses in a way that would show their wild nature, spirit, and the individual character of each horse. As I became more involved in the project with research and sketches I started to develop a real passion for my subject and in a short time I was eating, sleeping, and breathing wild horses. One of the most difficult problems was to come up with an appropriate title. Once I added the storm clouds in the upper left portion of the canvas, the title seemed obvious, hence "Thunder of the Wild Mustangs." – Howard Terpning
