About the Artist: Jim Killen
Jim Killen was a master artist whose career spanned over forty years, developing a large and fiercely loyal following. Born on January 22, 1934, in Montevideo, Minnesota, Killen was a renowned wildlife artist and outdoorsman. He passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 89.
Killen was particularly known for his paintings of Labrador retrievers, both black and yellow, which were considered among his best works. As a dedicated conservationist, he was honored multiple times by conservation organizations for his contributions to wildlife art.
Throughout his career, Killen reaped national and international awards for his artistry. His passing marked the end of an era for wildlife art, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful paintings that continue to captivate art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
