Tony Baxter is a celebrated creative visionary and former senior vice president of creative development at Walt Disney Imagineering, responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of some of the most beloved Disney attractions worldwide. Born in Los Angeles on February 1, 1947, and raised in Santa Ana, California, Baxter began his Disney career in 1965 as an ice cream scooper at Disneyland. He worked his way up through various roles before joining WED Enterprises (now Walt Disney Imagineering), where he became a leading force behind attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Star Tours, Journey Into Imagination, and Indiana Jones Adventure. Baxter’s work is renowned for its immersive storytelling and innovative design, earning him the Disney Legend Award in 2013 and a window on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland.
