Born in Los Angeles in 1947 and raised in Santa Ana, California, Baxter began his Disney journey in 1965 as an ice cream scooper at Disneyland and rose through the ranks to become Senior Vice President of Creative Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he shaped iconic experiences such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Star Tours, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Journey Into Imagination. Baxter’s work is celebrated for its immersive storytelling and theatrical design, earning him numerous accolades including the Disney Legend Award and a personalized window on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park—one of the highest honors a Disney employee can receive.
