About the Artist:
Morris Molarsky was born to Jewish parents in Kiev in 1885 and they emigrated to America when he was a child.
He grew up in Philadelphia and studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where he was a star student to one of the most famous American artists, William Merritt Chase.
He was so well regarded by the Academy that they gave him a grant to continue his studies in Paris.
Molarsky died shortly after the end of the Second World War.
