About the Artist:

Charles Bird flourished as an artist of architectural and sporting paintings in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Many of his works were engraved, including a famous depiction of a Victorian cricket match at Clifton College. However, the Bristol Museum possesses perhaps his best-known work, which is a drawing of St George’s Chapel at Windsor.
