About The Edition: “I have spent many years observing the wonderful and fascinating lives of wolves in the wild, but it was only recently that I realized that the crow or raven has always been right there with them. There is an intricate relationship between the crow and the wolf. They hunt together, eat together and depend on one another for safety. Not enough is known about the ‘vocabulary’ they share, but it is known that the corvids (crows and ravens) are noisy neighbors. This is one of my all-time favorite paintings. I like to let people in on the wonderful secrets of animal life; I want you to walk away from one of my paintings (or with it!) knowing a little more about the subject than you did before you saw it.
About the Art: Miniature art is an important part of any collection and SmallWorks is your way to begin. Such works are often a collector's first purchase because they are less expensive. A single small jewel of art can be that final, elegant touch in fine décor. On the other hand, a wall filled with framed miniatures makes for an impressive display of a collector's unique style and range of interests. The Greenwich Workshop's SmallWorks are artworks with an image area of 144 square inches or less (for example, it could be 12" x 12" or 3"x 44".) Larger than the traditional miniature format (6" x 9"), the SmallWorks design gives the artist slightly more space and dimensions to play with, while still offering the collector or first time buyer a point of easy and unique access to the finest art from the finest artists. We've offered smaller format works from our artists in the past, but it can be hard to understand relative size in our printed Catalogue. By creating the category of SmallWorks and by opening with a "show", we have put all the Greenwich Workshop artists together in one place and miniature art under the banner of SmallWorks.
