To produce a sericel, studio artists create a hand-inked, hand-colored painting or model of characters, which is then transferred to the acetate cel by a silk-screen printing process known as serigraphy. Sericels are normally printed in Limited Editions are richly colored and detailed.

Hand-painted, hand-inked-line cels are made using traditional animation techniques, exactly as the production cels were originally made for so many Disney films. This includes tracing an animation drawing onto acetate by hand with different color inks and hand-painting it with gumor acrylic-based colors formulated exclusively in studio laboratories. Disney in Stone (Sculpture) We are proud to announce a new medium showcasing the Walt Disney Characters in stone. Each color is created by many pieces of stone. Pietre Dure is a mosaic technique or more specifically a type of stone marquetry that originated in Rome and later reached z zenith in Florence Italy in the 1600 and 1700s it is sometimes call Florentine Mosaic. Marble and many other types of semi-precious stones are carved and cut into small pieces. These small pieces were fitted together with no visible interstices (joints between the pieces) to make a painting that depicted landscapes or other subjects from the world. The texture of the stone mimics those found in nature: clouds, mountains or leaves and flowers. Pietre Dure also means hard or durable stones.		The Muppets Collection
