About the Art: The bull moose is one of the largest North American animals and one of the most impressive to encounter.The most remarkable skill they have is to walk on muddy land with such elegance and suppleness. I have always wondered how those gentle giants can go through bushes in such silence. It is a true mystery to me. I was very excited to paint the marshes and wild bushes with fine details and texture. I knew this scenery would complement the moose and its natural shades of colour by capturing it in a way that makes you feel you're witnessing this creature up close with such dominating presence. As I was completing this painting, I felt that the forest background needed a touch of life, so I added a red-tailed hawk flying over the wetland in search of prey. Behind this peaceful warmth there is much activity within the painting that is happening before your eyes. A great variety of wildlife coexists, including meadow mice and voles which are favourite foods of the red-tailed hawk. If you pay close attention, you may even see a pintail duck resting in the shade. I hope this painting will create a special moment for those who dream of seeing the majestic moose, or for those who've had unforgettable memories of seeing one for themselves in the wild.
