About the Artist:
Maria Mendez was born and brought up on one of the smaller islands of the Caribbean, where she still lives.
Entirely self taught, she began collecting natural specimens, including flowers, ferns leaves and corals at a very young age and, over time, has established a business designing and creating attractive presentations of these natural objects and selling them to visitors to her island and to those building houses in the Caribbean and beyond.
Born in the early 1970s, she is married with two children.
